Worrying mass found on scan
« on: October 31, 2025, 01:07:46 PM »

Hi

Have any post menopausal women had a  'heterogenous mass suggestive of blood and clot’ found in their endometrial cavity and it been sinister?

Thanks

Yes, mine was a large aggressive cancer. Mistaken for a number of “ benign” masses, until it came out during my hysterectomy. I had a little PMB and some abdominal cramps, as key symptoms.

Regardless of what you hear or read ( most masses are nothing to worry about) cancer, I’m afraid, is real and common. It’s also very treatable in many cases, thanks to the wonders of modern medicine.

Hopefully your mass is nothing. Will they monitor it? No one monitored mine because the medics were sure it was “ nothing “

Which symptom sent U to the GP initially?

Who is over seeing follow up treatments and how often?

How much information have U been given and by whom?

Nothing about the words "blood and clot" suggests it is cancer.

Whilst it is natural to worry, and important to follow up on unexpected findings, it is statistically far more likely to be benign, and if it is just a clot it may well have been resorbed and disappeared by the time you are next scanned.
