. menopause and testosterone
« on: October 24, 2025, 01:22:05 PM »

Hi

I'm new and looking for some answers (as we all are)
HRT at 48, all good for 8 years. Then no feeling in clitoris, shrinking, no orgasms (normally very high sex drive) Sources some testosterone but unknowingly used too much, over 2 years. Felt absolutely fantastic! However, last 3 months it's gradually stopped working, cannot feel turned on at all. Also started in last 3 months getting very wrinkly, put weight on, hair very thin. Saw menopause specialist who upped oestrogen and progesterone but told me to reduce testosterone. Made no difference. I have a lot stress, carry a lot guilt. Could this be the problem? I'd be so grateful for any afvice

You have not caused this, and should not feel that you're at fault for your symptoms in any way.

You say you have been overtreated with testosterone yet do not mention any clinical evidence of overtreatment.

It is actually quite difficult for cis gendered females to overdose on testosterone because they usually experience side effects such as acne, hirsutism and male pattern balding that prompt them to reduce the dose long before any serious or long term harm is done.

I would recommend getting blood levels done on your current regime to evaluate absorption and correlate this to the clinical picture which sounds more like undertreatment actually.
