No it doesn't, it is an isomer of natural progesterone and is used in fertility treatment.

It provides good endometrial control within menopause hormone therapy.

But it has never claimed to provide ovarian suppression.

Obviously nobody can predict how your individual body will respond to Zoely - we are all unique.

However Zoely contains body identical estradiol just like your patch, not the ethinylestradiol that is very synthetic and in most birth control pills.

Therefore Zoely has no or minimal effect on SHBG. It also contains a very neutral progestin Nomegestrol acetate (NOMAC) unlike the drospirenone in Yasmin.

My SHBG is right at the low end of normal.

You have nothing to lose by trying it.

Vicky, if suppressing FSH and LH are a priority for you then dydrogesterone is probably not for you.

I bought a box of Duphaston (dydrogesterone) in Portugal because I wanted to try it but further research led me to conclude it would not be suitable for me because I suffer with migraine auras and despite being very post menopause and therefore no longer ovulating, it would not adequately close down FSH and LH and create the stable hormone environment that I need.  You still produce FSH and LH post menopause and it's destabilising and causes different symptoms for different people.

I tried Femoston (which also contains oestrogen ) a while back and has endless migraine auras.  I put it down to the oral oestrogen content which is a complete no-no for migraine sufferers but on reflection, I think it was the wrong type of progesterone for me.

You probably need to stick with either Cerazette or Slynd if you want to stop ovulation.
