Fibroids are not a contraindication to menopause hormone therapy, I don't know what mioms are but have certainly never seen any such condition or acronym listed as a contraindication, and only gel is problematic with clothing, oral or patches don't rub off, so I would really encourage you to have a consultation with a menopause specialist to discuss your options before writing yourself off from potentially beneficial treatment.
I personally am not a fan of antidepressants, I believe they are massively over prescribed, particularly to women, and far less effective than we would like to think they are.
However like any medication, they can be taken as long as the benefits for the individual concerned outweigh the risks, and there is no arbitrary time limit of one year or any other duration.
In fact one thing that I have a bug up my ass about is people being started on antidepressants for vague indications and then parked on them for years with repeat prescriptions issued ad infinitum with no clinical review.
It is the total opposite of MHT where women have annual reviews with a clinician who often attempts to wrestle it out of their hands like a narcotic and they really have to advocate and plead their case to continue treatment.
