Mild tummy pain
«

Hi I had a pelvic scan yesterday for bleeds on HRT , all is well no follow up
However for the last week I’ve been experiencing mild tummy cramp in the middle of my stomach , I’m very bloated and I don’t know if it’s in my head but I feel the need to wee but don’t always go
Would any abnormality with my bladder have shown on the pelvic scan ?

I’ve had a recent pelvic scan which they ask you to have a full bladder for.
It was mentioned on the abdominal scan that my bladder was full. I was asked to wee before transvaginal scan & she could see the bladder again.
I guess that they are looking at it in passing but maybe looking elsewhere if that is what your scan was for.
Just my thoughts…

Hi , thankyou for your reply , I did go to the clinic with a full bladder but the nurse said there was no need they would just be doing a pelvic scan so I emptied my bladder
I’m just wondering if the radiologist saw anything wrong with my bladder would they say something
They were looking more at my uterus etc for thickening of my Endometrium & bleeding .

Trixiebell, if you just had the pelvic ultrasound I'm not sure if your bladder would have been visible or if they're actually looking at it...think they're interested in your uterus etc like you said.
I had a cytoscopy to check my bladder when I first had issues.
Maybe worth a chat with your GP.
Do you suffer with VA , as this pressure on your bladder and constant urge to wee are very common.
Hope you get relief soon

Hello ladies.
I think the reason you are asked to have a full bladder for an external scan of your abdomen is because this pushes your uterus closer to the surface and makes the image clearer.
When the external scan is done it is okay to empty your bladder ready for the internal vaginal scan.
I'm guessing that a great view of your bladder isn't possible with either of these scans.
As Northerngirl says, your GP will know what tests you need to investigate your bladder.
Wishing you well and take care.

Tbh I thought that this might be the case
The aching is worrying me as it doesn’t go away , I’ve booked a Dr’s appointment for Thursday . I do use Ovestin but probably not often enough , but stomach pain could be anything it’s really strange as it’s not severe but I’ve never had a pain like this

When I had bladder issues, they checked by ultrasound scan initially so it is obviously visible to them though you need a cystoscopy to check the bladder lining. When my sister had pelvic scan for bleeding, the sonographer spotted gallstones. I guess it all boils down to the thoroughness or conscientiousness of the sonographer as to how much they scout around. I've had to pelvic scans when she didn't even do the vaginal one despite it having been requested.
