Menopause belly
« on: September 19, 2025, 09:10:33 AM »

god it has taken me around the houses to just try and get to post something!
So, I have seen a lot of stuff on social media: menopause belly: hormones, fatty liver, metabolic rate : will more exercise and diet really help? And if so any real advice on this please.
I did try and search for this, nothing came up.

You see online all these wonderful “cures” for meno belly but I doubt they work. I eat super sensibly throughout the week,do my sitting stomach crunches but nothing has shifted mine. The only time I got rid of it,was when I used to run but now with back injuries I can’t do this any longer,it was the only thing that worked for me

I posted this recently too because it's triggering reflux as I have a hiatus hernia. Nothing I do gets rid of the fat. My weight is fairly low, it's just my stomach. It started sneaking on during the lockdown which is odd as I was walking every day, so it's clearly menopause

Jules can I ask you what if anything have you found to ease your hiatus hernia symptoms. I have had one for years now, it was found when I had an abdominal ct scan looking for other things.
It has never really bothered me until the last few months. I am getting a lot of stomach aches now but not heartburn.

Any advice or info would be appreciated
Thank you

I have to take omeprazole daily. Maybe some gaviscon as needed.  I also gave up alcohol which helped and I don't eat after 6 in the evening unless it's something special. My belly fat though isn't helping. I'm having a flare up now and waiting for an endoscopy. I've had 2 already 2 years ago. If your stomach is producing a lot of acid it can cause gastritis even an ulcer. But worth asking your doctor just to be sure.
