I’ve been trialing Drovelis (drospirenone/estetrol), but my side effects from drospirenone are quite strong (mood wise it seems a bit better than other progestogens/progesterone). Because I was also having symptoms from peri menopause (hot flushes, dizziness), I was wondering if the estetrol was too low for me, or just doesn’t work well for me (it’s a novel estrogen option and will come out as hrt next year)? So, I started supplementing with 1 mg oral estradiol, because that is what I have lying around. That seemed to help after a few days, dizziness was improving and sleep a bit better and less flushes.

However, for the last few days my hot flushes and dizziness are even worse. I do have a nasty cold, not sure if that could be a factor? I’m also 50 and probably in late peri, my symptoms were getting worse over the last few months too, so maybe I need more estrogen even. Or maybe the drospirenone works against the estrogen, my lower back pain (that I get from all progestogens so far) is still present.

When I was still trying to get used to utrogestan, I was on 3-4 sprays of lenzetto (so, medium dose?), I had some breakthrough symptoms (hot flushes, night sweats) in the week before my period toward the end. The estetrol in Drovelis is supposed to be equivalent to a medium dose of estradiol I think and 1 mg of estradiol is a low dose, so together they should be medium-high?

So, to summarize my questions: Could my estrogen be too high? Too low? Could the drospirenone be too strong? Maybe I’m entering a new phase of peri menopause? Could my cold make my symptoms worse? Am I still getting used to Drovelis, is my cycle not suppressed enough (I have been spotting continuously this second pack)?
Obviously, I have many questions. ;-)
