Advice please i change from evorel sequi to conti patches
« on: September 13, 2025, 07:57:48 AM »

Hi i am new to here and have been told to change from evorel sequi to evorel conti, i only went on the patches as was having too many bppv(vertigo) episodes and was advised these could help but when i changed before i bled for 3 weeks so changed back but have been told to try again at my age i'm 53, i am also having anxious moments when out all of a sudden and i am not a nervous anxious person but i was having trouble with invisually induced dizziness which can cause anxiousness with eye movement but i'm sure this time it feels a different type if anxiousness, the doctor has also told me to take fluoxetine but i'm nervous about taking both as my patch was also upped from 50mg to 75mg, do you think i should just try the upped patch first before i try fluoxetine aswell because i think i would prefer to do that and see how that goes first or do you think i should just try both at the same time?

I would just take the increased dose of estrogen, which can help reduce the incidence of bppv (which I have also had during a period of low estrogen and it is horrific).

I can see no indication for psychiatric medication; acute vertigo would make anyone feel upset and fearful. That's not a mental illness, it's called being a human.

It's always best to change one thing at a time so you know what has caused any difference in symptoms. Anxiety is a very common meno symptom so I'd try increasing your oestrogen dose before you consider ads.

Absolutely it is worth increasing estrogen if you feel your dose is too low.

Don't forget to review your endometrial protection though if you do.

In my experience it can take a few weeks for a BPPV episode to resolve without specific treatment.

Some people find the epley manoeuvre effective however I chose to let it resolve naturally due to neck problems.

Yes bbpv is defo terrible i have had it numourous times and also get it quite a lot on top of a sinus infection that is defo horrific having both and was told menopause makes it worse and that was the reason i started the patches, this time has defo been my worst been in out of hours surgery 4 times also being violently sick the first week then twice for numb face and squint mouth being checked for stroke symptoms and had anxiety attacks  my doc thinks i had a virus along with these symptoms and to top it of i ended up having a urine infection, i can honestly say never felt so ill, fingers crossed changing from evorel sequi to evorel conti and upping from 50mg to 75mg patch does the trick, only wish it was one patch and didn't have to cut one in half as so far the half patch comes away easier and have had to put another half on twice and have only been on 75mg for 1 n half weeks

Thanks for the advice

You can get tattoo film cheaply from eBay if you want to tape it down. It stops them lifting at the edge.
