Is this anxiety?
« on: September 12, 2025, 08:05:40 AM »

I know anxiety can be an issue some women experience during meno so I thought I would ask here.  This morning I woke up before 5am with feelings of nausea, felt hot, weak and I also get mucus needing to blow nose constantly.

I have to say this is on the back of a lot of illness for me starting before easter with a flu type virus, another blip in June, I thought I was just tired from my period but it turned out to be more like the virus again.  Then I was diagnosed dehydrated in July and finally caught a virus start of August on holiday and its taken the whole summer to recover. The dehydration and recent virus was a lot of nausea, made me very weak and tired.  Two weeks ago I had a similar blip where I had an episode of these symptoms and they lasted much of the weekend.  This morning it has now dissipated, I have been able to eat breakfast and I just feel a bit wobbly.
I have had full blood works and yes my immune system showed but nothing concerning and no other issues and GP says no other tests can suggest and its eat, sleep, time etc.

Does this sound like anxiety?  I don't have any reason to feel anxious.  I am due to go back to work on Monday but I have been doing well all week and even have been working on bits at home.  I feel fine about going back.  So I just don't know what these episodes are and if anxiety what can I do to stop them/recover quickly?

Sometimes extreme viruses can slightly hang around if even make you feel weaker from time to time. A friend of mine had a stomach upset on holiday years ago, and every time she gets one now, it always seems worse than it did before that event. Whether it’s the mind or not, we feel it, and that’s the important part. I hope it was and you have a great start back to work!

Could it be low blood sugar in the early hours?  Cortisol the waking hormone can cause similar symptoms, I would wake suddenly, terrified. Hot/cold .......

Anxiety 4 me is sudden nausea with weak thighs and calves = hit the floor.

Some allergies can become worse as we age.  This morning I'm sneezing like a May kitten and blowing the snout almost constantly!

Which blood test would show problems with the immune system?

As 4 the repeated virus-like symptoms, this mayB due to other reasons: low VitD levels or thyroid function problems.

Thanks.  I have felt rubbish for much of the day. I felt like I was getting a cold earlier.  Maybe it is post viral?  It just comes back to haunt me every now and then.

The blood test tested for vitamins, thyroid, liver as well white blood count, inflammation etc. Elements related to my immune system were slightly out of norm but nothing that concerned the GP - it just meant that I had previously had an infection.

Your GP seems 2 B on the ball ......

MayB taking a VitD supplement will be wise over the Winter months, I re-started a few weeks ago as I have been very tired.

Which cold symptoms do U feel, I've sneezed and snuffled all day  ::) but we cultivate dust  :-X.  I've been clearing my throat all day  :( which is annoying.
