Progesterone and period
« on: September 11, 2025, 05:07:34 PM »

Hello! I realized I never introduced myself.

I'm Kai, 51 , black AFAB Cisgendered - been on Estrogen 0.037 gel + Prog for 1.5 years now. I recently discovered that I've been taking the progesterone wrong and consulted my doctor. I have been taking 100 mg for 12 days vs the 200 mg up until July. When I switched from 100 (every day) to 200 (12 days) due to experiencing a full period and bleeding starting 10 days into the 200 mg cycle. The doctor said to continue this month, and now the bleeding has started again on the 200 mg on day 10.

I really do not want a uterus scraping. When I started bleeding in July, we did an ultrasound and my wall was in range.
I think these doctors have no idea what the hec they are doing. Plus, Ifinallt have my mojo back and was supposed to have a good time this weekend and a las...😩

Any advise wrt what to do? To stop and wait till 10/1 and then take the 100 mg daily? it's the full onset of pms that is killing me.

If you're peri you should take 200mg for 12 days (days 15-26) though the guidelines have recently been increased to 300mg. If your cycle is pretty regular I'd try to get the hrt cycle in step with your own so stop taking it now and start counting again from the first day of your bleed.

I'm post menopausal according to my doctor and bloodtest.
