Progynova Patches
« on: September 11, 2025, 02:59:32 PM »

Posting in case this helps anyone struggling with patch size in the absence of estradot.

I don't personally use patches but I have a friend who recently received Progynova patches on her generic prescription and is thrilled with them compared to the A4 size estraderm or evorel.

Visibly they are less than half the size and she doesn't need to use any kind of dressing over the top to keep them on.

Whilst I believe they are probably not as small as estradot they are worth asking for instead of estraderm or evorel.

Worth noting that Progynova patches need to be changed once a week, as opposed to the other oestrogen only patches which are changed twice a week. I'm surprised they were an option on a generic prescription, but who knows! During the recent Estradot shortage my pharmacy couldn't dispense Progynova because my prescription specifies Estradot which is a twice weekly one. Progynova would have required a new prescription.

I didn't know that, I'm not sure the smaller size and better adhesion would make up for being expected to eke out one patch for a week!

I know when I was using the patches for IVF they only lasted a couple of days and restricted how often I could shower, and I wasn't even exercising during my treatment so feck knows how they are meant to last a week on someone active who doesn't want to stink!
