Morning Ladies

At last I have spoken to a lady doctor who has agreed  I can try HRT.
On my previous post you can see I am 64 and keep being offered AD


My anxiety and panic is through the roof at the minute I am struggling through each day and  really not coping at all.

So I have been given Evorel conti patches. 

Any advise as she literally just said use one patch for 3 days then change for 4 days and she would speak to me me in 12 weeks ,  that was it. 


Are any of you on this.   Will there be side effects etc  are they good how quick do they work. 

Will put first patch on this morning.

Here goes.

I’m so glad that someone has actually listened to you. My advice is give it time - don’t expect miracles to happen immediately. If this hrt doesn’t work for you there are plenty more to try.

I'm replying as we have some similarities, so my experience may help?

I'm 61 and have been medicated for anxiety since I was 47. I can't take antidepressants any more because I have low sodium, but obviously anxiety disorders don't just go away by themselves!

Since using Femseven Conti patches for 5 months, I find my anxiety is much reduced. I'd say it was better than ssris. Unless I take a patch off, when it is horrendous, like a rebound.

Depression got really dark on the Femseven about a month in, so I was a bit stop/start with the patches. I cut them in halves and sometimes quarters. But now I feel better than I have for years, and wake up without the Doom! feeling.

Long story short, it's worth a try...might just work. My combi patch has levornogestrel not noreshisterone, so hopefully an Evorel Conti user will be along soon. I hope it works for you 🤞

debbyx, that's good news.  I hope it works out for you but there are plenty of other HRT options available if you have disappointing results so definitely don't give up and give it time to work.  Hopefully you will feel an improvement after a few weeks.

I didn't know Femseven was back so that would be worth considering because it's usually well tolerated.

I am having a total break down today. 

Got up and was okay  but by 8 wham !!!
I am terrified but I don’t know of what. 
I am non stop crying my legs feel like I will collapse.  I tried to do ironing but couldn’t,  I put the potatoes on to boil ready to roast and came up stairs ,  I am now to scared to go down and put them in the oven.  What the hell is wrong with me
I just can not do this any more. 

I can see my neighbour in her garden having a laugh with her grand kids.   I want to be like that ,  not this mess of a person that I have become.   

I don’t even know what I am scared of or even crying for. 

My husband is out and probably will be for as long as he can as he said he can’t put up with me any more.   

Any one else been like this.

Just for timescales my anxiety took a full 3 months to go completely, there was very little improvement in the first month. So if you see any improvement however small take it as a positive as it's likely to keep on improving but expect days when it's bad too.
