Patches & mirena cpil
« on: August 28, 2025, 03:38:15 PM »

Hi,
I am new on here. I have been on the mirena coil for 2 years (as an alternative to the pill) and i had a period for first few months then they stopped, haven't had anything foa long time, occasional spotting but the last 2 months i've had a light period with stomach ache, is this normal?? Also been to the GP this week as feel i am perimenopausal and she has put me on Everol 50 patches (not started yet aa only got them today) any one else have the coil and patches, how do they find it? Sorry - this is all new to me.

I have a mirena with estradot patches. As you tolerate a mirena well it's a good option. Have you told the GP about your bleeds? It's supposed to be good for 4 years for hrt, it just seems a bit odd that you've been bleed free for so long and it's just started again.

I did tell the GP, she didn't seem that concerned, it wasn't a heavy period or anywhere near to how i use to have them but it was more than spotting and it only last 3 days. I have been under a lot of stress so maybe that

I have had the Mirena since Feb alongside Evorel 50 patches.

Its the most stable I've been...not perfect  but much better control of my psychological symptoms ( which are my main concern) of anxiety and severe mood swings.

I still have some spotting but that's normal for 6 months in.

Good luck 👍 💓
