Question re Sandrena and sweats
« on: August 27, 2025, 10:58:34 AM »

Hi Ladies, 9 weeks on Sandrena gel 1.5 and like how my mood has improved but between 10.am 12.00 noon I seem to sweat profusely. Usually I'm quite active at this time ,shopping or cleaning. The sweat drips off me and I feel a little light headed too. I am applying the gel at 7.00pm. G P said I can't increase the gel as only licenced I.5. Anyone else get this or can advise 🤔

Hello Warwick

I didn't notice any particular pattern of sweating in the four years that I was using Sandrena gel.

My maximum dose was one, 100 mg sachet  which I applied to alternate thighs at about 8am daily.

Could your sweating be due to being more active as you suggest?

I have been taking a break from HRT and haven't used any gel for four months, not surprisingly sweating is back and I wish it was confined to 10 am - 12 noon lol!

Hopefully some more Sandrena users will be along soon to offer their experience.

Wishing you well and take care.

Hi Kathleen

Thanks for your reply.
Really good news you've managed to reduce and stop the Sandrena. I recall you being on 6 pumps of Oestrogel in recent years. I loved the old green top gel and was happy for years until the new product appeared. :-\ keep going, hopefully things will settle soon Wx

Hello again Warwick.

Thank you for your kind comments.

I was expecting a return of some symptoms and I am trying to ride them out. At almost 69 I am hoping that my hormones will soon balance naturally, I am keeping everything crossed!

Take care and I hope your sweating issues resolve soon.

Wishing you well.

I think the licensing has now changed and you can get 2mg of Sandrena as max dose. Certainly my GP allows this and did say the guidelines had changed. My advice would be to try 1mg morning and 1mg at night to try and even things out. See if things improve after a couple of weeks.

 Thanks Gnatty

Do you use 1mg morning and eve ?? How do you find the Sandrena ??? I'm not quite sure yet as still having break through symptoms. I take it at night to avoid any side effects. I do tend to get a little dizziness a couple of hours after application in the mornings.

Thank you

Hi yes, 1 mg evening and morning. I quite liked the Estradot patches but got swapped to Evorel. There was just no consistency with adhesion - so some patches stuck really well and others were completely useless. Like for like 4 pumps of oestrogel should be 3mg of Sandrena, but difficult to convince GPs - you're doing really well if you get 2mg of Sandrena - some only allow 1.5mg.

Same here, I had a problem with the Evorel patches not sticking very well and figured if half of it isn't stuck to you then you can't be absorbing correctly.  I have just been changed to the gel and upped the dosage to 2 pumps but not noticing a difference yet - fingers crossed.
