@Cherry - sorry to hear you’ve had this reaction to Nalvee. Could it be a temporary reaction to it? The body can sometimes do that temporarily after a change, even if it is the right one. Maybe you need to give it more time…

So I've been on nalvee 10 days and  I started a bleed yesterday....should I keep taking for prescribed 14 days or stop and let bleed come? Is it normal to get bleeding when you switch? Feel terrible tbh

You didn't get an answer to this - did you sort the problem and feel better?

WIthout looking up your previous posts, whether you bleed or not will depend whether you are peri or post and what HRT you were on before switching to Nalvee. Normally one should take the full dose.

So I've been on Nalvee for a week- very early days but not much in the way of side effects so far, except some short-lived drowsiness.

One thing I have noticed is that it takes away the desire to overeat, so with a bit of luck I'll get some weight off.

As it turns out, I have anxiety, insomnia, worse acid reflux than normal...ooh, and violent pooping caused by Nalvee.

Sooooo, back to Femseven Conti and feeling better within a couple of hours. Just requesting to change my prescription back 🙏

I'm puzzled as to why you changed to Nalvee? Did you also change the oestrogen prescription? The thing is you have changed from transdermal to an oral method of delivery so that may well upset your digestive system.

However I agree with Furyan - it's best to give  time for your body to acclimatise to these new types of HRT before dismissing them - so I'm still wondering, if you are wanting to go back to Femseven conti, what did you feel was wrong about that particular HRT?

Hi Hurdity,

I hoped I eould be less tired on a separate estradiol patch with a progesterone at night, than I was on the all day, everyday combi patch that is Femseven Conti.

As it turned out I had severe acid reflux on Nalvee and a very strong histamine reaction to Estraderm, culminating in me having to rip off a quarter patch in the loos at Sainsbury's as I was struggling to breathe.

I had a milder allergy-style reaction to the Femseven Conti but it was bearable and I found the patch beneficial.

So I got back on Femseven Conti and felt great on day 1, then had a dreadful allergy reaction from that the next day whereby I get a load of mucus and my right arm goes numb. I don't even know what this is but it's horrible so my HRT journey has now ended.

The numb arms and mucous thing happened  occasionally on Femseven Conti since starting it but it would wear off, so I assumed it was a side effect and pushed through. It's not a blood pressure issue as I tested that and that's fine
