Vibrating
« on: August 13, 2025, 06:04:48 PM »

Now 67 and a good 12 years post menopause, but l still occasionally get the internal vibrations. I thought it would have passed by now. I’ve never taken HRT and was fortunate to sail through peri. This has, without question, been the worst symptom. Is it something l’m stuck with do you think?

Hi marge
by internal vibrations do you mean in your chest. I get these with palpitations and they are a nightmare. I have had loads of cardiologist appointments and am at the moment having private tests. Just done an exercise stress test as the problem seems to happen a day or two after vigorous exercise e.g running and can then last a week preventing me sleeping which makes everything worse. I have been having these on and off for about 5 years. I do think anxiety is playing a part in prolonging the symptoms. I hope to find a solution soon, if I do I will let people know.
Are you on HRT (I am) my cardiologist said if all tests come back ok maybe look at adjusting my HRT.

Hi
When I went through the Peru menopause I had these internal vibrations. I felt, ike I was shaking bit one could see it. It was like I’d been plugged into to a mild electric current. It was these vibrations that lead me to go on HRT. I hadn’t heard of them before. I am now 10 years post menopause. I have hot flushes back but no internal vibrations. Hopefully knowing that is is due to menopause will help you.

Thanks both for your replies. I’m not, nor ever have been, on HRT. The vibrations affect my middle and legs mainly, nothing like palpitations, and can make me feel a bit dizzy. Had them yesterday for a couple of hours, nothing today so far. These days they are few and far between, but horrible when l get them
