Evri Conti HRT
« on: August 08, 2025, 08:13:27 AM »

Hello all,

Well I took the plunge and have started the patch. As previously mentioned I don’t have many menopause systems but have obviously read that replacing the hormones is important for now and for the future.

I applied my first patch a week ago and all seemed ok, the last 2 days I have noticed that my hands are tingly, I feel more tired and I am having more hot flushes… is this part of the process of adjusting to the patch? Any feedback would be great. As of today I felt better off the patch!

Thanks all,

Katy

Hey. I can't help, but I've just started evorel conti too.

But I'm only taking 1/2 patch. I thought it wasn't helping my hot flushes, but right enough, I've been having lots of random hot episodes too - not so much flushes.

Hope someone can reassure us this is normal. X

Thanks for your message I’m on a full patch and it’s the 50 one….
I’m so 50/50 about it all, I’ve not really got any symptoms the odd hot moment, brain feels a bit slower, skin is dryer and more wrinkles on my face…I’m 51 now.. a few aches and pains and my dry eyes… actually sounds like I have more thank I thought!

I thought it was a good idea to take it to help with replacing the hormones, help with future ailments like osteoporosis, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases etc….. then I just think is it necessary to introduce this to my system…. Ahhhh…

I'm afraid I'm not the right person to ask...

I've had the most horrific 7 years imaginable. Still in peri. I'm 49 now.

If I had only a few, manageable symptoms - I'd run a mile from HRT. But I have to keep trying things as my body cannot tolerate my own cycle. It's absolute hell.

So sorry. I'm really not the right person to advise.  ;D

Can I ask why you wouldn’t entertain HRT? If it’s too personal to answer I understand. I’m just very 50/50 of it all…

What I mean is, if I felt ok, I wouldn't mess with my hormones.

But my story is one of hell and I'm losing everything because of it. I just want to feel stable.

So all I'm saying is - if I felt well - I'd leave well alone.

How are your hot flushes now? I'm day 15 and still flushing. I don't think mine are any worse - but no better. Not my worst symptom by far - but interesting to compare notes when most things say flushes go within a few weeks.

Got boob pain now - that's really unusual for me.  And I'm on very small dose.

Morning,
Thanks for your reply.
I just felt it’s perhaps good for a short period to top these hormones up at the early stages of the menopause but then I question it all the time too… :-\
I would agree the hot flushes are not worse just a little more frequent. The tingly hands are still lingering but I’ve had these in the past before starting HRT. I’m going to ring my GP this week to ask though as perhaps I can decrease to half a patch..? It’s a bit of a minefield isn’t it!

Let’s keep chatting though.

How are you finding your other symptoms since starting the patch?

I started because going on cerazette (hopefully helping supress my own cycle a bit) has left me with awful joint pain. Within days of starting my 1/4 patch it lifted by about 50%. That's why I'm surprised the flushes haven't.

I increased to 1/2 patch on Fri night but felt so wired on sat and freaked myself out as my boobs had started hurting on Thurs and I'm headachy - so decided to wait a bit longer before increasing. So 24 hours later - back to 1/4 patch.

But that's me. My sensitivities are huge!

I'm not sure if I'm now seeing some regression in my joint pain  sigh. So I will need a higher dose. But I'm going to let the boob pain subside first as that's a rare thing for me and would usually mean high E.  So I'm going to do a blood test.

It might well be worth reducing to 1/2. Not sure how well GPs support chopping patches. I'm merrily chopping away but my GP doesn't know I've even started evorel conti yet (had some left over from my chem meno experience!)

Perhaps it's too soon for hrt? Having too much is just as bad as having too little so your own hormone levels have to have fallen before it's beneficial. In early peri sometimes a combined BCP is better than hrt as it stabilises your levels. In peri hrt can be difficult because of your own peaks and troughs so you might find either you've added too much for peaks or not enough for the troughs.

Hello again…
I’m 51 last period was July 2024 although I skipped a few in late 2023 and early in 2024, then had them a bit irregular in March, April and the last one in July. So I think that now classes me as post menopause… I get confused by it all really.

I had all the blood tests and the recommendation was the patch. I don’t really I understand can anyone help…do the blood tests determine the dose and type of HRT? I sometimes feel a bit naive about it all.

I’m ok and then I wonder if it’s the right thing to do.
With regards to the other symptoms nothings really changed yet… I’m hoping to feel a little less tired, hoping it may help my dry eyes and my skin but will have to see. But as previously mentioned I know seem to have slightly tingly/stiff hands. I’m going to contact the GP this week to ask for some advice.
