Changed from hrt patches to tablets and I feel terrible...
« on: August 05, 2025, 10:39:25 PM »

Hi,  I've recently had my hrt changed from Evorel conti patches to Kliovance tablets after I experienced post menopausal bleeding on & off for eight weeks.  A scan & endometrial biopsy came back as normal but the bleeding started up again so I was prescribed tablets instead.  The bleeding stopped and 18 days in, I have extremely sore breasts & feel very tired.  However, what is very worrying is that my mood has dropped - feeling more irritable, very low, weepy, and panicky at times.  In fact, just like I used to feel before my period was due.  The patches suited me well for four years until the bleeding started.  I did get hot at night and occasionally during daytime on the patches but I could cope.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?  Thinking of stopping the tablets and trying the patches again.  Thanks

Hi you haven’t been given the equivalent strength of oestrogen . Kliovance contains 1mg which roughly equates to half of the oestrogen in Evorel Conti patches.

The equivalent tablet would be Kliofem or Elleste Duet Conti.

You could use an oestrogen only patch with Utrogestan as the progesterone.

Hi Dotty, thanks for your reply - that makes a lot of sense.  I used to have really bad PMS and, for me, not having that anymore was a blessing.  The patches suited me really well for four years (my periods stopped at 54) but then the light bleeding started, which was a nuisance.  I would rather go back on the patches, though, than feel like this.  Thanks again.
