Yes or Sylk?
« on: August 05, 2025, 08:14:00 AM »

I’ve been trying the YES products with varying success - I think I really want them to help but not sure they suit me - or it maybe because I don’t persevere with them long enough! I’m such a wimp!

My practice nurse said most of her ladies prefer Sylk so I got a sample of that - when I used it, everything really stung and I was on the point of washing it off when suddenly it stopped and it all felt much better.

Has anyone got a view as to which they prefer? Or whether all these moisturisers sting at first.  I’ve found nothing that soothes anything yet! Sorry if I should’ve put this on my other thread about whether to moisturise or not - it only just occurred to me!

I used to use Sylk until it came off the market because of a mould issue at the factory. I then went on to use YesVM and I didn't notice any difference.
I think they are basically both the same, I didn't have any problems with both.

Thanks Ayesha. I couldn’t see a lot of difference when I looked at them either.

I’m in a lot of pain today (in one small area but I can’t see or feel anything there) feels like there should be a big angry spot there but there isn’t.  Weird.  I’ll try a little Vaseline on that area just to protect it and YES VM on the rest.  I’m thinking that anything will sting on sore skin but that doesn’t mean it’s not helping.

I haven't tried these products but I tried boots own and stung and was told by GP not to use it. It was so sore. It felt like my skin was burning. I use blissel and pessaries on prescription.  It's the only thing that helped. I suppose the advise is listen to our body. Somethings just don't agree with our chemistry x

You’re so right bluebird.  I’ll check out blissel.  I read a great saying recently that said ‘if you listen to your body whisper, you’ll never have to hear it scream’

Trouble is I think I must be a bit deaf as I’m not sure what my body is saying except ‘help!’ 🤣
