Hello all,

I posted a year or so ago about an unexpected bleed. I have taken Utrogestan 100mg and Oestrogel for a couple of years, with great results and tolerance. I have had two unexpected bleeds during this time - last year, when the Utrogestan was replaced with Gepretix, and again now. I thought it was all due to the stress of a recent house move, but to my surprise, when I checked the blister pack this morning (a week into the period, symptoms and everything, there was a Utrogestan label stuck over the blister pack which is labelled Progestan.

Has anyone else had this happen? I was completely unaware that there had been this change, and while I know that on paper the preparation should be identical, it seems very odd that I've now had two incidences of bleeding that have coincided with a brand change.

I'll have a chat with my GP too, of course.

I never heard of so I googled it, it's utrogestan.
I bled a few times, I now know it was low oestrogen causing the bleeds.
I didn't know that the time though, each time I bled we reduced my oestrogen 😐 you can imagine how well that went 😀 lol
I found out through blood tests.
I am a poor absorber, so, not enough gets through, but I am addressing that with gradual dose increases.
The NHS don't see poor absorption as a thing, but I hear quite a few ladies with it.
Could this be a thing with you?

Yes, I wonder if this might be a possibility as well. I am prescribed 1-2 pumps of Oestrogel a day and use two (I'm sure it was 2-3 originally).

It's also been a rather stressful few months, with a house sale (now complete), moving in with family for a 'short' while, only to have our purchase fall through, now struggling to find anywhere we like. I'm also on a bit of a health push and have upped the exercise (nothing excessive) and cut out some of the bad stuff (cake, biscuits and red wine). I guess it could be these things in combination ... all well otherwise.
