Hello
« on: August 01, 2025, 06:13:09 AM »

Hi everyone. This is my first time posting. Just wanted to introduce myself.  I'm Jackie and I'm from the U.S, NYC to be specific. I found this forum a year ago or so and have found it immensely helpful. Just a quick history, I had a stroke (due to a hole in my heart that I never knew about)  almost 4 years ago. (Nov 12th 2021) They closed the hole in March of 2022, and because God MUST be male LOL I started experiencing the first symptoms of menopause in June of 2022. Having to navigate all the symptoms that I experienced over the past few years and not freaking out about what is because of menopause and what could be another health event....NOT EASY. My mental health is in the bin. PTSD is horrible. However, this forum and all of you fine folks have helped me out a lot. So, thanks so much and looking forward to being able to also be of some help.

What were your periods up to until June 2022?  Mine began to disappear; then back, lighter for several months; then went completely after 2-3 years.

Having to navigate all the symptoms that I experienced over the past few years and not freaking out about what is because of menopause and what could be another health event....NOT EASY. My mental health is in the bin. PTSD is horrible.

Many experience more anxiety when hormones begin to wax and wane which focusses our minds on other health issues that may creep up.  Some ladies find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of use to chart progress and to note the better days.

However, this forum and all of you fine folks have helped me out a lot. So, thanks so much and looking forward to being able to also be of some help.. browse round, ask away.

Hi CLKD, thanks so much for this response. So my periods were still pretty regular up until June of 2022 but much lighter. Then for about 6 months or so after they became irregular and stopped about a year or so later.
