Oestrogel
« on: July 25, 2025, 01:03:29 PM »

Hi

I started to apply oestrogel just over a week ago and have had a very heavy bleed with clots the last 24 hours, I’m not due to start progesterone u til 1/8, has this been a side effect for anyone else as I’m a bit worried? Spoke with my GP this morning and have been advised to stop applying the gel and for an examination on Monday next week. Thanks xx

Morning.   :welcomemm:  is there any info in the leaflet in the box?  What examination does your GP plan to do?

What were your periods doing B4 you opted for HRT and which symptom would you like to ease?

Browse round. Make notes.  Ask away.

Morning, the leaflet does mention heavy bleeding so I was expecting that to possibly be a side effect for the first couple of months, its the clots that are concerning me. My periods have been erratic for the past year with bleeding being minimal some months and heavy others. My GP wants to run bloods, repeat my smear test and do an internal examination. The night sweats and hot flushes are horrendous and after trying holistic therapies and getting no where I opted for HRT.

It can take up to 6 months for your body to settle on hrt. Best to get things checked though if you’re worried.

How many pumps of Oestrogel are you using ?
