Hi.  I saw my GP a few years ago with a flare up of vulval atrophy - she said the skin (left side labia) was red, raw and the skin was torn.  She told me to carry on with the estrogen cream but also gave me fucidin cream.  When I looked up my records she’s put ‘query also possible superficial infection, plan continue estrogen cream and fucidin’ I’m really not sure if that’s a good idea as it’s so intensely sensitive- any ideas? I’m
afraid I might go through the roof!

If that was a few years ago and one GPs opinion I would follow what you are being told now.
If that doesn’t work after the time you’ve been given that it should work maybe mention the previous on your record.

From reading your other threads I would follow your GP's advice as you do seem to have a chronic condition and it will be trial and error until there is a solution.
We have to try these things and at least you are being well looked after but if you don't take the treatment there is not much a GP can do but to refer you for further tests at the hospital.

It is not normal to be using fucidin cream chronically - it is usually used short term where there is an infection.

If you have been using this for several years and still have symptoms it would be worth asking for a referral to gynaecology - there is often a dedicated "vulval skin" clinic which can assist with diagnosis and treatment of vulval conditions not responding to primary care measures.

It's just an anti bioctic cream, if it helps then good. You could have an infection which is prolonging the labia getting better. You've got nothing to lose trying it.

Thanks everyone - I’m giving it a go - estrogen cream first then fucidin a bit later …

Ok if its just been a few days then absolutely it is fine to use both until it heals and then just continue long term with the estriol.

I would apply them at different times of day so that each has the chance to take effect.
