Hi all, looking for shared experiences & thoughts please.
I started HRT (Evorel 50 Conti patches) late March this year. I specifically waited to be 12 months free of periods before starting. Main 2 reasons for starting HRT were joint pain & tiredness. Could cope with hot flushes & a bit of brain fog etc. In less than 3 was my periods returned. They could be anything from 10 to 20 days in duration & was lucky to get a week between. Final straw was a 20 day period with 2 day break & then started again! Other symptoms of hot flushes, tiredness were gone, joint pain not gone but better.
Spoke to my GP who suggested, due to the persistent bleeding (although not super heavy) to change to Evorel 75 & Utrogestan 100 in order to stop the bleeding. I understand the Utrogestan is to help protect the lining of the uterus becoming thick. I’ve read that this means bleeding? I thought by changing to Evorel 75 & Utrogestan 100 this would stop my bleeding. My question is - is this correct or am I now in for regular bleeds? The only benefit of the menopause was periods stopped!!!
I’m becoming so disheartened with HRT as I seem to be bleeding 95% of my time. As I’m lucky enough that it’s mainly the tiredness & joint pain as the reason for starting, I’m considering stopped HRT if the bleeding continues like this. I know it can take 3-6months to settle but the persistent bleeding is becoming a bit much. I’m otherwise fit & healthy with no issues.
Thank you so much for reading my essay & would really appreciate any thoughts.
