If you want a mirena they can put it in at the same time.

Yes Zara, they will probably offer you a Mirena whilst you are under for the hysteroscopy. That would be a great plan....

The other thing to say is that there are or need to be higher acceptable levels of build up if you are on HRT. It's not going to be the same as someone post meno who's not on HRT. The criteria to trigger all these investigations needs to be changed.

They did offer to put the Mirena in during my GA but I’d still have to have it taken out and a new one put in in five years time and I doubt they’d put me under for that. I have cervical stenosis and even smears were painful but bearable whereas the cervical biopsy he tried was too painful as was the hysterostomy I had under local last year. Also it wouldn’t be so easy if I wanted to come off HRT at any time.
I agree about womb linings, they’ve said 5mm is for ladies on HRT and as I’ve had more bleeding this time than last, and they put me in the cancer pathway, I feel I have to go through with the procedure. But can’t help feeling that it’s marginal.
I think I’ll go back on evorel conti and maybe try a private scan in six months to see if that’s better. But I’ll have the hysterostomy and they can deal with the polyp they think is there.
