Would like to bring bleed forward
« on: June 23, 2025, 06:32:41 PM »

Hi all
I’m 45 and on Evorel sequi. No idea what my background period is doing, but I’ve pretty much followed the HRT bleed pattern since starting it. I was going 30-70 days before starting HRT 18 months ago.
I am due to go on a special holiday with lots of swimming and limited toilet facilities on 30 July. My bleed is of course due on 30 July.
If I skip the last 2 days of the next 2 rounds of the combined patch, do you think I can bring my period forward 4 days? So I’d be taking 12 days of progesterone for 2 months, instead of 14.
Many thanks for your thoughts.

This isn't a reliable strategy and if your priority is being bleed free on your holiday you would be better getting a course of norethisterone or provera from your GP that is indicated for this purpose.

If you don't have a cycle of your own you can use hrt like this though I'd start the conti patch one patch change early, then you have 2 months to know if it's working. If not then norethisterone is the best option.

Many thanks. I will dry not using the last combi patch this week and see what happens. I did the period delay pills when I was much younger and they really didn’t agree with me, so would like to avoid if possible.
