Feeling so upset tonight
« on: June 06, 2025, 07:20:33 PM »

Can anyone sympathise please,
I'm feeling so crap tonight, but weird symptoms. Internal buzzing, feeling so tired I can barely keep my eyes open, throat feels open like I'm going to be sick. Just weird. Can't remember the last time I felt well.

Peri-menopause can cause lots of weird symptoms so keeping a mood/food/symptom diary may be of use, I may have said already in 1 of your other threads?  What's upsetting U the most?

R U able to tell whether your GP has done recent blood tests for VitD and thyroid function levels which can cause intense weariness.

Do U have an appt with your Nurse Practitioner who can spend longer with patients or GP this week?  Take a list of your worries to the appt. to discuss, is there any1 that could go with you?

I have had to adjust my diet in the last 3/4 years to good benefit, how is your diet overall?  If U R tired, then sleep. I can't fight it when my brain needs to shut down.

Hi there,
I could create so many posts for all the different symptoms! 😂
My vit d and thyroid are fine.
I just never feel well.
At the moment my worry is palpitations, internal buzzing, feeling hot and a feeling inside my chest that I can only describe as intense.
I eat well, barely drink now as I don't tolerate it since peri.
I tried hrt last year and didn't get on with the progesterone side of things and I'd decided not to retry as I have multiple fibroids.

Ah .......... how R U this evening?  Once I know what's causing issues I can usually deal with them, it's the what ifs that can cause havoc  >:(

R U due for a follow up appt. anytime soon?  Is the feeling of heat continuous or can U identify triggers?  Some find that having a small fan to use helpful, a chillow-pillow at night as well as a cool air blowing fan across the bedroom.  It's about adapting during The Change -

Keeping to one thread won't garner more responses, if others R able to scroll down to catch up it makes it easier for those of us with meno brain  :D.  R U aware that instead of creating a new thread, that the subject line can be altered ......... it took me years to realise  ::)

Open up the page on your thread, go to 'modify'; put the cursor on the subject line to update your concerns  .

How have U spent today?

I didn't know this!! 😂😂

I'm ok this evening, I had a wave of those feelings a while ago but not as intense as last night. I've spent the day with my family which has been lovely.
I don't have any follow up appointments at the doctors, I think they are going to refer me for the palpitations just to check.
The heat isn't continuous but happens a lot, I usually find some fresh air does the trick. Can't tell if these intense feelings are a type of hot flush. I generally feel ill most of the time. No energy but not so I'll i can't do anything. Just has an effect if that makes sense.
Thank you, your posts are always welcome. X

I probably should mention I have Axial Spondyloarthritis and I think this isn't helping.

Poor you! The Axial S must make life pretty tiring anyway.

Just wanted to say that I understand that overpowering not-well feeling. I think I felt like that for a couple of years, every day.  Along with palpitations, internal buzzing, feeling hot and cold, massive lack of energy, and my chest was SO tight (intense is a good word). Often the tight chest and racing heart would happen just before a hot flush. Just a totally ghastly feeling.
Btw, apparently I can’t and choose not to take HRT.
I eat really well, drink lots of water, don’t drink alcohol, coffee, tea, fizzy drinks. Don’t smoke.
Apparently there’s nothing wrong with me and it is ALL down to menopause!

How long have you not been feeling well, Mummytron? Weeks? Months? Years?

I am now at last getting more days when I feel normal or nearly normal. So I do believe there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, but it does seem a very long tunnel.

Btw, I sympathize hugely with you. But am pleased you feel ok this evening. It’s really important to remember the ok/good times and that they indeed happen.

Thanks Pbjb,
I've been peri for about 9 years but it's really only been for the last 2 years it's really ramped up.
Probably a year that I've felt the worst and barely have days I feel human.
Periods are few and far between now, so I'm really hoping that it will all start to ease soon.

CLKD,
I am thank you. I have to say I'm lucky as lots of people have it a lot worse than me, but still, it has effects.

Just a thought but if you could persuade them your fibroids are bad enough for a hysterectomy you could have oestrogen without a progestogen.

The internal buzzing is awful, l know from experience, but it does pass. Anxiety has a lot to do with it l’m told. Do hope you get some help/answers soon. Keep us posted; we’re always here to ‘listen’. You’re not alone.

I did sleep, actually I sleep hard!! Like a zombie. I toss and turn because of the arthritis and being hot but it doesn't wake me properly.

Thank you all, I really appreciate these lovely posts ❤️
