Estradot patches made by Sandoz - not working as well
« on: May 22, 2025, 10:08:21 AM »

Hi All,  I have been on Estradot patches now for 2 years which have been the only ones that have worked well for me but my last lot of patches have been made by Sandoz rather than Novartis which I started 5 days ago and have noticed they don't seem to be working for me as am getting big return of symptoms.  Has anyone else noticed any difference?  I should add I am stupidly sensitive to dose changes of oestrogen.  Maybe I just need to sit it out and hope that it all adjusts but the patches feel more crinkly and different although to be fair they still stick well.

Oh great   >:(. I can't get estradot patches at all so I can't compare. It seems every time the change any hrt to an allegedly identical one they get weaker. I get more from estradot than anything else I've tried and will be p*ssed off if they've changed them.

sheila99 I totally agree.  Ive been swopped from gel (was on Oestrogel for over 20 years and when it became available again it didn't work for me and I just didn't absorb it at all)  to spray to various patches and Estradot were the only ones that have worked for me.  Today I changed back to some of the original Novartis patches as I have some left and my symptoms have gone within 4 hours so its looking a bit worrying re the Sandoz ones for me personally.  Will write to Sandoz but doubt I'll get any joy.  Have also reported it on the Yellow Card system. Why can't they just leave things as they are when they work well :(

I think I've been on the Sandoz ones for 6 months now, previously was on Novartis ones. The main thing for me was that they started coming off so I started using the tattoo film over them which worked. I did read some article that said they were having issues with the glue (I think this was October) and were trying to rectify it. I don't think I noticed any difference in effectiveness. The last three months I haven't been using the film and they are staying stuck on.

For the last three patch changes I have been using up some older Novartis patches (bits and pieces) which I thought I may as well use before they expire and can't say I have noticed any difference, i.e. level of symptoms haven't got any better but I'll monitor it more carefully after the next change when I'm back to Sandoz again.
