I have a HRT question as I am changing brand.

But first a warning - if you have boys with mental health conditions or ASD, please hide your HRT. Turns out my son has been secretly identifying as trans and helping himself to my gel for months. He’s given himself breasts that will never go without surgery. Just be careful x

Now my question.
Currently on gel + cyclogest. But had a 2 day gel break at the weekend due to removing all oestrogen from the house (see above drama).

Saw my GP on Monday, who has put me on evorel patches to keep at work.

I was planning on switching products in 2 weeks, as advised in the instructions, but this morning I began bleeding on day 14, when I should have begun my final cyclogest course.

When would you suggest I start the evorel? And do I begin with the oestrogen only, or oestrogen + progesterone patch.

I am 45 and believe there is some sort of irregular cycle going on in the background, but think the stress and break in oestrogen has brought on this bleed.

As you've started bleeding use the oestrogen only patches now for 2 weeks then the conti patches for 2 weeks. And at least in theory you bleed shortly after you've changed to oestrogen only again.

How did U not notice  was the product not lasting 'long enough' ?  I would never have touched anything that belonged to my parents who would have known within hours  .  As well as being afraid of any side effects  even when prescribed.

Hopefully both you and your child R getting support for those sometimes overwhelming feelings and who has suggested that the breasts will require surgery?  Surely once the HRT is stopped, the body will revert?  Hopefully too now that you are aware, you can both move forwards to make sure that any treatment will be discussed in full, it may be that it's an age issue when young people are at odds with their feelings and outlook.

There's so much in the Press about hormones these days that it can be a mine field for adults as well as young people.  How do U feel with your replacement overall?  Helpful?

I noticed one bottle of gel going down quicker, but thought the heat had somehow caused evaporation. I did not notice at least a whole bottle of gel disappear from my stash under the bed/holiday wash bag as I only order more when there is only one bottle left. I naively didn’t expect this to be a risk, so wasn’t looking for it.

Re the new patches - all good so far thank you, although am about to ask a separate question about going on holiday and bringing forward a bleed

And no, we’ve been told that once breast tissue has formed, only surgery can remove it 😭 his beard has at least come back, but who knows what damage he’s done to his fertility

Thank you, yes conversation is more open now, but was paused during exams. We’re about to rip the plaster off and resume conversation.
I naively thought parenting would get easier as they got older, but I’d go back to the terrible twos any day!
