Suddenly absorbing estrogel
« on: May 12, 2025, 06:59:57 PM »

Ok so I've been in surgical menopause since October 2019 and since then regardless of the preparation I really haven't been able to absorb estrogen. High dose patches, gel etc still wouldn't get my blood levels above 250 pmol/l usually they were under 200.

A month ago my boobs started to feel well more boobish so I had my estrogen tested and it's now 500 pmol/l the last time it was tested was February and it was 200. Now I'll be damned if I know why I've suddenly started absorbing it. Which is a little annoying as I'd like to continue doing so, my brain literally feels like it works properly for the first time in years.

Anyone else had a change in uptake and know why they might have?

That's very interesting. Can you think of anything else at all that you have changed? Medication, diet, exercise, supplements? Placement of patch or timing or placement of gel? Changing of body wash etc that might have affected absorption?

The only things i can think of being a change recently are sunbathing due to the unusually warm spring and I started taking a thymus extract to see if it helped reduce the number of viruses I catch. Other than that nothing has changed. My training is still 5 to. 6 days a week my diet high protein and high veg. Honestly not a clue which is frustrating because if there's a secret recipe to absorbtion I want to keep it going!

Well how strange. I did look up thymus extract and it's benefits...One of which is skin! Balancing sebum etc. Soooo maybe it's making your skin change in some way that is helping you to absorb it better?

Might well be! I hadn't come across that benefit, I'm taking it mainly due to a lousy immune system. Was it dedicated thymus extract you looked up or thymus vulgaris extract?

Not sure, just looked again and it seems to be a general benefit of whichever version.
