Help please I’m panicking
« on: May 10, 2025, 05:28:24 PM »

Hi I’ve been using Ovestin cream for 18 months and GP added Estrodial 10 mg vaginal pessaries 5 months ago take each twice a week for VA. Only had ultrasound 3 months ago and smear a fortnight ago all ok. I’m not on systematic HRT. Had breast tenderness for 2 weeks now and I’m bleeding for no reason and freaking out especially as I’m 3 years post menopausal. Anyone experienced this please and it turned out ok? Got GP appointment Monday thank you.

It is not uncommon at all for postmenopausal ovaries to randomly chuck out a last egg in the first few years after menopause.

The premenstrual type feelings such as breast tenderness, plus the recent negative ultrasound, all point to a benign cause.

I really, really wish there was less fear around bleeding - even for women not on hormone therapy it turns out to be cancer in far less than 1% of cases.

Whilst it does need to be checked out, I really wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Also do be aware that many of us require VA treatment every night ;-)
