Hi there

Just wanted to check if there is quite a wait to hear from a Menopause Clinic after your GP has made a referral? My GP referred a month ago and not heard anything yet - West Yorkshire region 🤔

In some places it's 12-18 months wait.  Could U take a cancellation appt., i.e. the Clinic contacts U the day B4 or even on the morning ?  If so let the Clinic know your details.

Wow! I did not know it could take that long! Yikes! - will get back in contact with my GP.

I have just Googled 'NHS Menopause Clinic in West Yorkshire Waiting Lists' and the AI reply gave a wait time of 20 weeks.

Some referrals show up in your NHS app with a note of the average waiting time, so that might give you an idea?

Don’t panic if it doesn’t show up though - some clinics seem to be on that system and some don’t.

Mine took 2 years.    After about 18months they rang to ask if I still wanted the appointment.

I’ve had this before for a non-meno referral. Basically hoping you’ve managed to get better while waiting so long.

Have they requested advice only or an actual face to face appointment? The former can take a few weeks, the latter months to years.
