Adding HRT patches

Hello Ladies
Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on adding HRT patches to established use of Vagifem pessaries
So quick back story
Had atrophy for 18 months eventually found some relief (not massively) still struggling
Had prolapse surgery 9 months ago (rectocele) All seems to have worked so far and surgeon swapped me to Vagifem from Intrarosa
Hysterectomy 18 years ago
Still suffering from vaginal pain and discomfort night flushes brain fog and general feeling of fatigue
GP suggested adding patches but will that help with any thing ??
I’m 66 and just want a break from all this It’s SO exhausting

Yes it’s fine to add patches to the use of Vagifem. As you’ve had a hysterectomy you won’t need progesterone. Sounds like you’ve got a good GP.

Absolutely!
It would be a waste of a hysterectomy not to use systemic estrogen.

Thanks for the replies ladies
Good GP 🤔 questionable 🤣 Been a total loss so far Thank god for Facebook groups and this forum
Shame I wasn’t given HRT after my hysterectomy, which apparently I didn’t even need to have But you have to make the best of what you have
Happy Easter 🐣

Hrt should solve your meno symptoms. How often do you use vagifem? If it isn't keeping your vaginal/urinal symptoms under control you might benefit from using it more frequently (though it's possible hrt will give you enough systemic oestrogen that you don't need any more topical oestrogen).
