Femseven reaction -suggestions please
« on: April 05, 2025, 07:43:34 PM »

Over the last couple of weeks I've changed from using Evorel Conti patches to Femseven patches. Problem is that my skin seems to be reacting to them. At first it's just a bit of redness around the patch but after a couple of days it's bright red, raised, itchy/stinging even when they're removed. I've tried using antihistamine, emollient and sudocrem. I'm hoping to get aloe Vera gel tomorrow. I just can't take the heat out of the red areas. I contacted the GP who advised to persevere but I just can't and I can't get the GP until next week now.

Any suggestions what I could try?
Thank you

It sounds like an allergic reaction in which case the normal advice is to stop using them. Why did you change? If you got on with evorel it might be better to go back to them.

As of today I've stopped them. GP has advised that occasionally there would be some irritation but to persevere and see what happened. To be fair, the photo I sent initially it didn't look too bad but has got worse over the last few days.

Changed from Evorel as some of my symptoms were coming back and it was decided that they weren't working as well as they had been. I'd only been using them since last June.

When I used patches for IVF I struggled to keep them on for more than half a day, but after solving this with adhesive dressings over the top, I found that the longer a patch stayed on, the more it itched and the more angry and inflamed the skin under it became.

You might be able to get away with them if you change more often eg every two days, until you can get something else sorted out.

Are you already on 100 evorel or could you just increase the patch strength? Sometimes you absorb better from a different product but usually there isn't much difference.

Just an update...today I've been given a steroid based cream to use on the areas of skin that the patches reacted to.

I'm now to use Oestrogel (2 pumps) and have progesterone capsules to take daily. Hopefully this will be better 🤞 After reading the leaflet about the gel I'm thinking it might be better to use it at night time??

Thank you for your replies ladies, appreciate them all
