Palpitations but not many at a time

Hi all,
I have palpitations from time to time but normally I'll have about 3-4 and then they stop. It feels like an extra big heartbeat and almost makes me what to do a gentle cough.
Does this sound like palpitations to any? Although I've had this for years, it's the one symptom that still scares me.

Yes those sound like PVC's where your heart feels like it pauses or skips a beat, and they do make you feel like you need to cough, they seem to be very common in meno. I have had them long before meno though

They're ectopic beats and feel like you've missed a beat. I've had them on and off for a few years. Menopause, anxiety, alcohol and caffeine are main triggers and they are usually harmless. I've had ECG's a few times but have always been okay and told nothing to worry about.

I had them for two months before Christmas and the more I worried the worse they became. I was recommend to watch a podcast with a gynae talking to a cardiologist, she explained in detail what causes them and that they aren't life threatening and not to worry. It was very reassuring and within a couple of days mine just stopped. The BHF link Taz2 has done is good too.

Yeah they are really common in perimenopause. I used to get them years ago then randomly just stopped for ages and they came back last year when my other symptoms started. I’ve had ECGs aswell and told nothing wrong so I try and not worry but they can sometimes take my breath away for a second or two and I have to stop what I’m doing. It can be unnerving.
