Hi all

Im 53, post menopausal for a number of years, have a Mirena Coil which was replaced a year or so ago and have been using Evorel 100 patches, smear up to date and all ok. Did a fairly brisk longish walk this morning and when I came back home I went for a wee and noticed when i wiped it was a bit pink, like fresh blood. Have had another wee since and all norma but i do feel slightly achy where my cervix is. Apologies if a stupid question but should I contact my GP about this tomorrow or wait to see if it happens again?

I would wait unless U have to wait weeks for an appt to C a GP - if things improve U can cancel.

R U aware of vaginal atrophy?

R U sitting comfortably with a cuppa: we have lots of threads on the topic here.  As oestrogen levels naturally drop the body may become dry: inside and out; skin, scalp, deep in the ears, nostrils and vagina - which may present initially as repeated urine infection-type symptoms. 

Appropriate treatment can help.  It may be that the show you experienced is the start of VA - as the vaginal walls become thinner and dryer, they may tear/bleed.

I'm on Evorel 50 as well as Vagifem for atrophy. I find I need both but I am further into post menopause than you. I was fine with just Evorel until I was 56 I think. This is the vaginal advice from the menu at the top of the page https://www.menopausematters.co.uk/vaginalsymptoms.php

You would be extremely unlikely to have endometrial pathology with a mirena IUS. They provide really good endometrial protection, and your cervical screening is up to date.

I personally wouldn't rush to investigate this if it is just a one off, however if there is persistent bleeding or any other new symptoms then I would make a GP appointment.

Vaginal atrophy is less likely with a robust dose of systemic estrogen but not impossible, so there's no harm in trying some vaginal estrogen if you think this is the case.
