Shopping centres

We have tried, really we did.  DH needs some specific cycling gear so looked on line : Decathlon had 5 different designs on their website so off we went to a Real Shop.  1 design possibly but non in stock  >:(

Tried 3 other cycling/walking shops: either don't stock them or never heard of protective arm sleeves.  So it will be Amazon.  Again  :-\

And they wonder why shops are closing at breathtaking rate
You drive there You pay to park You go home and order off Amazon

That's what we feel.  We don't use self service till areas either, we likes to speak to a Human Bean we does.

At least we didn't have to pay for parking !

A still existing family owned gentleman’s outfitter in our market town told us that his pattern of buying has been altered of late.

No longer wholesalers for him to buy small numbers of items from. He now has to go to individual sellers where their minimum quantities are too much so he no longer buys from them.

May be a reason in other shops as to why certain items are not in stock.

A good point.  Often we are told that we can 'buy on line' even from B&Q!

Minusminnie
Same in our little town
Independent trader who sells the best winter boots can’t order smaller amounts of stock and hasn’t the space or finance to hold loads of stock in the shop He’s also expected to order so far in advance for the next season that he runs out of stock and then can’t reorder again !!!
But we take pot luck and go to him just so that he doesn’t go out of business

We do much the same.
A noticeable high number of socks in the window before Christmas last year. I guess you have to be astute.
