Menopause type Supplements on top of HRT
« on: February 16, 2025, 08:45:08 AM »

Hi there

I have been taking HRT for over 25 years (ovarian cancer as a child and early menopause etc)
Tried various versions over the years - current HRT is Utrogestan 100mg and 2mg Sandrena daily.
I take the Wellwoman 50+ vitamins daily too.

Been looking at the various menopause supplements - appeared in one of my social media feeds and wondered if it was worthwhile to take them as well? Seen rejuvit, hormone harmony as just 2 examples.

Or is it just overkill?
( I find I do still get the odd nightsweat, mood swing etc so was thinking to take this type supplement on top)

What about testosterone replacement?

If a man had no or very little testosterone nobody would be talking about otc supplements.

I would also consider whether your estrogen level is adequate.

But please don't spend your money on commercial products that have no evidence and are marketed in a very exploitative way at women during a potentially vulnerable time.

Goodness only knows what is in any of them, anybody can put a pink sticker with menopause on something and sell it for a huge mark up. At best you are ingesting an inert substance or a product you could have purchased much cheaper without the menowashing, at worst you are taking sh** that has no business being in the human body.

Hi both, thank you for your comments.

Agree that I reckon the Sandrena is having moments of not absorbing well, I end up having to take 3mg the odd day as I recognise when I need more.  I may need to see a menopause clinic as the Drs insist in only subscribing 2mg.

Was just curious re these menopause supplements being advertised - agree will leave them be and focus on oestrogen 1st.

Hadn’t thought about testosterone - I’m going to bring that up when next at the Drs - thank you for the idea.
