Yes VM
« on: January 04, 2025, 08:40:24 AM »

Hi, has anyone used the Yes moisturiser for vaginal atrophy/itching and is it any good? I’ve just ordered some off Amazon as I’m not due for my HRT review until Feb but recently especially before a period and ovulation, the itching is intense down there and then gets really sore. I can’t continue scratching my skin away until it stings and needed something asap to help in the meantime. Just wondered if others had tried it and if it works. Thanks!

I believe that there has been success with that as well as 'sylc' products.  Get yourself some appropriate vaginal atrophy treatment, U don't n need to see a GP/Nurse or have any examinations.  Don't wait.

after each bleed stopped I would itch high up  :o

I tried the moisturisers first but they won't and don't work in treating the symptoms of vaginal atrophy (GSM). You will need topical oestrogen in the form of a pessary, cream or both used together.
Moisturisers just lubricate the area but will have no affect on symptoms of GSM.

Thank you both, i think i will contact my GP after the weekend and ask for the topical oestrogen if the moisturisers doesn’t do anything as the HRT patches I’m on have helped most of my other symptoms apart from that. I know it’s hormonal as it comes and goes at different times in the month so probably not an infection etc

Vaginal atrophy mimics repeated urine infection-type symptoms really really well. Which is why many medics simply don't recognise the need for VA treatment.

Yes I sometimes feel like it feels like a water infection, with the burning when peeing and pains. It’s more the itching that I can’t stand though. Had it for 7 months now without treatment I can’t take anymore :(

Do U have any KY Jelly which is what I find soothing when necessary.  I've used savlon or Nivea on the outer labia/vulva when I've nothing else to hand.  There should be a pharmacist open tomorrow ........

I haven’t tried that but willing to and open to any suggestions as to what works. It’s not “inside” for me that is the problem it’s outside right on the edges of my groin, and anal itching too which is unbearable at times. When I touch the skin it actually feels really dry like there’s never any moisture there at all.

So what's not to help with moisturising that area, do U use hand cream when necessary?  Sudacrem on the outer areas too, it's good enough for babies with nappy rash.  Pop along to your local store and browse the shelves?

Sudocrem is very good also zinc & caster oil cream will help to relieve the itch.
There are members here that use other creams but I don't know the names, perhaps a search might help you.

Sylk and Yes are very good moisturisers but won't help to relieve a constant itch.
There are creams on the market specifically for this purpose, hopefully LittleClaire, you will find one that suits.

Thank you all. I’d already ordered the Yes which arrived today so I’ll give that a try and see how it goes, sounds like I’ll need oestrogen cream in the long term though. I’ll also take a look at using sudocrem I have plenty of that in the house I have a 2 year old  ;D

I have this issue - I tried Yes before going to the Dr and it helps temporarily post application but after that the itch was back. Estriol vag estrogen was a game changer tho
