Vaginal moisturisers
« on: December 22, 2024, 03:43:56 PM »

Hi ladies,

Can anyone recommend an external moisturiser that doesn’t contain glycerin or aloe as I react to both? I’ve looked everywhere online and they all seem to have one or the other. Vagifem used to be enough but doesn’t seem to be working as well. I take 2 a week. I’m considering just using coconut oil.

For starters use the 'vagifem' every night for at least 2-3 weeks.  As oestrogen levels drop the body may become dry, inside and out; including the vulva area.

Some find that 'yes' or 'sylc' products help, I use KY jelly or a smear of VA treatment = estriol/ovestin.  Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for the advice CLKD. I will ask my gp for ovestin. I just looked up Yes moisturiser but it contains aloe but the Sylk doesn’t so I will try that. I can’t use ky jelly or silicone either. If all else fails there is always the coconut oil!

My Gyneo said to use coconut oil on the outside. I have super sensitive skin she did not suggest anything else for this reason.

Thanks for sharing.
I think I will try coconut oil because I can’t find anything that doesn’t sting and I’m reluctant to spend anymore money on creams that I can’t use.

Well I tried organic coconut oil and that stung too. I have since tried Yes moisturiser and it didn’t sting, thank goodness I found something!

Hi,
I’m using Pjurmed Repair on the advice of my meno specialist. I’m getting on well with it.  I also use Vagifem twice a week.
