Stress and UTIs
« on: December 19, 2024, 12:19:54 PM »

I have noticed lately that when I go through a really stressful time I seem to get UTI symptoms. I don't appear to have an infection ( have been tested) but notice that I am up more times at night and occasionally have blood in urine. This usually just lasts for 24 hours. Am wondering if I should up the vagifem . At the moment I am using it twice a week.

My stress levels have rocketed this last month as I am caring for my adult daughter who has severe MS. Trying to take time for myself and do a bit of self care but with very little help out there it is exceptionally hard.

Hiya, yes,I'd say increase the vagifem,it's safe to use daily but I would run it past your Dr first,as she/he will wonder why you are needing a new prescription quicker than usual
I often have traces of blood in my urine but all ok,had it for years,Dr puts it down to the VA, I take it you have informed your GP of this?

Hi use the VA treatment every night at least for 3 weeks.  Get yourself over the 'festive' season and review.  If U R still getting traces of blood then speak to your Nurse Practitioner or GP.  Sometimes there are traces because the vaginal skin is thin!

Do read the threads on bladder issues and vaginal atrophy.

Do U get any support from the MS Society?
