Hi! is there any info in the leaflet in the product box?

It mayB that your own hormones are beginning to wax and wane.

It's common for cerazette to interfere with your cycle and not a cause for concern - unless you have missed doses and may be pregnant if applicable.

Cerazette generally prevents ovulation in a high % of cycles, however it doesn't fully suppress ovarian function like the doses used in the combined pill ie 150mcg desogestrel or another progestin of equivalent potency.

It is like a kind of halfway house or twilight zone between normal ovarian function and menstrual suppression.

Bleed pattern can therefore be highly variable, and periods can persist for a while and then go away.

Perimenopause may add to this somewhat.

You don't just have to put up with this however.

There are multiple other options that can reliably either get rid of bleeding altogether, or produce a more regular pattern if that's what you want.

I had a similar experience with cerazette too.

I have been on the combined pill continuously for menstrual suppression since I was 29 and don't bleed at all, but during COVID I was unable to get my usual pill for over a year in my early 40's as the local family planning clinic I was obtaining it from closed down.

I tried to get a prescription from my GP but they said they had no record of me being on the pill and would only give me cerazette over the phone.

One cerazette daily didn't shut me down either, I continued to have a completely regular 28 day cycle and after a few months of this I ended up taking two daily, which did the trick nicely however I wasn't happy to live long term with the resulting low estrogen levels for health reasons, so as soon as things opened up I went back on a combined pill which I remain on, bleed free, to this day.

I was on Cerazette for about 10 years and it completely stopped all periods for me, except for random and very occasionally light spotting. (I was on it for endometriosis or I wouldn't have taken it, being a synthetic progestin.)
