Hi,

I have reacted badly to a very high dosage of oestrogen given to me by the news in clinic which creates or triggered a histamine intolerance.

My dose was increased from a 100 patch of oestrogen to 100 patch and 6 pumps of gel. I was fine on a 100 patch for over 2 years and only triggered a histamine intolerance when my dose was increased.


I have reduced my oestrogen to 100 patch again for the last 6 weeks but the histamine intolerance was not resolved itself. I have since dropped further to 75 patch.

For those that have suffered with a histamine intolerance do you fully have to come off HRT completely or should it rectify itself in time just at a lower dose especially as I had no problems previously. I would rather not come off it completely if I don’t need to?

Dr Tina Peers is the expert when it comes to HRT and histamine intolerance. If you search for her name on YouTube you'll get loads of interviews with her up and podcasts and she also has a website and offers consultations.... (although I think there is quite a waiting list).

Thank you. I have had an appointment with them. I couldn’t see Tina Peers but I was able to see one of her colleagues.  I have a follow up with them in January.

They seem very focused on staying on HRT and lowering my dose slightly. They were not clear if by lowering it would resolve itself or whether I needed to stay on the antihistamine and diet. I just want it to go away.

I never had an issue before and my mom recently passed away and I just need a break from all this rubbish. I am so annoyed that I have this histamine intolerance as I was on HRT without a problem for 2 years until Newson tripled by dose. I just need to be back to my old self and not clear of I need to come off HRT completely and start again slowly or just lower my dose.
