Hey

Sorry you’re suffering with anxiety. It’s the absolute worst.

The only thing OTC that I’ve found helpful is a strong antihistamine like Promethizine to help me sleep. Helps with nausea too. Your GP can also prescribe beta blockers which can help if you get a racing heart.
And I know it’s not for everyone, but things like box breathing and meditation using the Headspace app really helped me.

Good luck!

I am now on Paroxetine but I found that Ashwaganda powder in my water works wonders. Don't take it with hot drinks/meals though as it changes properties. But definitely worth a try, didn't realise what a difference it made until I ran out one day!

How long have you suffered with anxiety, it is cyclical?  Is there any particular time of day when you feel worse?

I had my first panic attack aged 3 and have suffered/struggled since.  I take an anti-depressant night and monring as well as having an anti-anxiety emergency drug.  In 2002 my GP prescribed Propranolol to ease the early monring surges.  By evening I would be a different person as anxiety eased, I had to learn to say 'no' to anything or by morning I would be a shivering wreck  :'(

Bachs 'rescue remendy' might help you.  I've used the mouth spray successfully in the past, 3 sprays onto the tongue and didn't wonder if it would/not work.  Valium the night B4 events that I was unable to get out of too: 5mg the night B4 knowing that I was able to take another mid-morning which I never required.

Let us know how you get on.
