No Estriol cream 1mg at Boots and was told they don't know when the next order will arrive.  I asked why and they just said this is happening with a lot of mediication and if it's not here when I've ran out to ask the doctor for an alternative. Luckily I've got a couple of tubes in hand.  Anyone else had this problem or is it just Boots not ordering enough in time before they ran out?

My local Boots has it in stock including the surrounding areas.
I picked up my prescription yesterday and it was Ovestin, still old stock I assume??

I think a lot more women are accessing menopause treatment now than a couple of years ago due to more awareness and education, which is a good thing, but supplies haven't ramped up correspondingly.

You can ask for your prescription back and take it to another pharmacy - phone around and see which one has it.

My recent script came from the Surgery as 'ovestin', the 2 boxes B4 were 'estriol'

Boots have an online stock check system online. So you can see if any others local to you have it.

I collected my prescription from my local Boots today no probs

Sometimes the smaller independent pharmacies have better stocks of some medications. When the utrogestan and oestrogel were in short supply my local  Boots and Lloyds rarely had them in stock but my local independent ones did thankfully. You can ask for a copy of your prescription to take somewhere else to try.

Thanks everyone, I'll try another pharmacy if I've not heard by next week. Sounds like a lot are using old stock if you've got Ovestin again.

Got a text yesterday to say my prescription was ready just a day after I was told they had no idea when Estriol would be back in stock. I just think the staff can't be bothered to find out so just fob you off with "don't know". I don't think they realise how stressful it is not knowing when you're going to get your medication.

My recent lot was ovestin as usual.   There didn't seem to be a problem getting it.  I gaup on Boots pharmacy years ago.  Long waits in the shop, running and of stuff, waiting ages for someone to answer the phone.  I go to a smaller place now.

I'm thinking of changing. The same  Boots  pharmacist last week stopped my prescription for Vagifem because it was confusing and she needed to clarify it with the doctor. The prescription reads " 4 pessaries weekly, up to a maximum of 6 pessaries in a week as directed".
I told her the wording had been the same for years and no one had been confused before. She told me to come back the next day when she had spoken to the doctor. I went the next day and it hadn't been changed but she gave me the Vagifem and asked if I realised to take one every day not 4 at once. What can you say...🤷‍♀️

Oh dear.  I'd of said "does it matter which nostril" and see then what she said !

I'm not a fan of Boots pharmacy, they have embarrassed me enough in the past in front of other customers but to be fair to the pharmacist, I bet they have come across some that have shoved up four pessaries at once. A daft question to those of us more aware but they have seen and heard it all
