Evorel
« on: November 21, 2024, 05:19:59 PM »

Hello
My menopause clinic have advised me to wear two Evorel sequi patches together.
So effectively I get a high dose of oestrogen 100 in the first two weeks and in the second two weeks I have two of the combined patches.
However the pharmacist at the doctors keeps insisting that I only need one of the combined patches as that should give me enough progesterone.

Does anyone have any experience of this situation. The menopause lady was very nice and seemed sure if I have a high dose of oestrogen I need an equal one of progesterone.

My doctor said he would follow her instructions and then when I went to pick it up it was not there and the pharmacist had intervened and was going to call me next week 🙈😳
I am frustrated no one told me and frustrated that they are arguing and I don’t know what is best now. I am also frustrated that I was going to wait a week to discuss it but the receptionist has now added me to a list for tomorrow.

Any advice or anyone had similar happen to them ?

Sorry that you haven't had a response  :-\.

MayB put the product name into the search box on the Forum and read the threads.  Make notes ;-)

Hiya,
Welcome to the forum,

I'm currently on Everol Conti 50 (combined patch) along with a plain Everol 25 patch..
The 25 patch was added ohhh about 7 months ago or so after the Combined Conti patch just wasn't quite doing it..

This was done after dscussing with my GP how the Conti 50 just wasn't quite doing it any longer. Had been on the Conti for about 8 months or so at that point..
Soooo far the combination of the two seem to be doing the trick..

If you're using 2 oestrogen only patches that's 100 oestrogen in total for 2 weeks, but if you're only using one of the combined patches, then surely that's a halving of your oestrogen?
Maybe the pharmacist is only looking at the amount of progesterone and forgetting about the oestrogen component.
