Do itchy HRT patches ever stop itching?
« on: November 04, 2024, 05:25:46 PM »

Just that really. Can itchy HRT patches be a start up thing??

Or once an itcher, always an itcher? If I. Going to have to change, I'd rather do it sooner rather than later.  >:(

If your allergic to the adhesive then it won't get better. Which hrt are you using? I know the Evorel info leaflet does say to discontinue if the patch causes itching/rash.

Evorel conti.

It's not massively bad. But it's annoying already.

Evorel patches were fine for me but I had issues with Fem7 causing itching and sores that took ages to fade.
The sore patches were polo mint shaped so I ended up with my bum looking like I had ringworm all over it  ;D

Oww sounds horrible.

To be honest, I'm not sure if my brain is overthinking it. Will give it another 24 hours.

I'm getting other histaminey itches since starting the HRT, so could be part of that.  :o

Are you getting marks or is it just itching?

If it's just itching could it be that you're aware of the edges sticking in? After all, they're made of horrible plastic.

A patch needs inventing that's more soft and flexible. You wouldn't get sharp edges scratching you then.

Well the last one left marks, but it was badly wrinkled. And like I feel the wrinkles jabbing in. Dong know if I've just got a heightened awareness to it.

Currently trying a new location.

Good idea with the different location. You may just find a place where you don't notice it at all.

Fingers crossed for you. 🤞

Hey Crispy,

On a side note,

I recently saw Louise Newson video saying that if the patch is wrinkled it isn't giving the full dose.
As the estrogen is in the glue and so needs to be flat in full contact with skin with no wrinkles, in order to get the full dose.

Blimey. Thanks Turkish.

It's all very new to me. Seems stuck on much flatter on my abdomen. Clearly my bum is too shapely. 🤣

Check the information leaflet to see what it advises
