One to prevent novo virus is being trialled across the World in the next 2 years.  Yes Please 

My friend has been offered: MMRI due to us being in our last 60s/70s. Apparently any immunity gained from having the various diseases that this is covered,  will have 'worn off by now'.  That's 1 I won't be having.  As a child I had chickenpox as did DH who had shingles in August ; same virus.  I had measles, didn't feel ill until I looked in the mirror    .  My sister had mumps on one side, DH has never had it, nor did I.

When I had my blood tests prior to getting my Contract in the NHS I was told that I had been affected by German Measles.  [which another friend had 3 times].  Apart from 1 hot Summer in the 1960s when several of us had rashes: caused we thought by eating too many strawberries and sugar  : I had no awareness until the blood tests over 20 years later. 

What other vaccines has any1 been offered?

We had our covid/flu boosters earlier, DH had both I opted out of the 'flu as I haven't had it since 1989.  Nothing was suggested about more vaccines being offered ..........

Why not have the flu vaccine?

I thought as the virus can mutate that it is best to keep up to date with the latest vaccine.

The only two years I had the flu vaccine were the years it was given free where i worked and I subsequently ended up with the most horrendous viruses which laid me up for over a week each time.

That's because your immune system was triggered Penguin, same happened to me with the shingles booster.

As I haven't had the flu since 1989 I don't think it necessary to keep putting stuff into my system.  Shingles jab as new to my body and activated by the booster; DH had the jab 14 months ago, had shingles in July/August but wasn't as ill as he might have been.

It wasn't straight after tho, it was later in the season, I mean maybe a month or so later. I honestly think it weakened my immune system that year.  Whereas with the covid jabs I had a reaction immediately and was very unwell for a few days. I had two jabs plus a booster and while I regretted it at the time, I do think it probably explains why I didn't get covid that badly.
Are you meant to get the shingles jab even if you have had chicken pox?
Have you had the pneumonia one, the one that lasts for 5 years?

Regardless - the chickenpox virus stays in the body until shingles is triggered either by being close to a child with chickenpox, touching a handle for example that has been contaminated or from shock.  One cannot catch shingles from a sufferer though they should isolate until the blisters dry as it can trigger chickenpox  clear as mud.

So yes, have the shingles jab. DH had a single dose, I had the vaccination and then the booster which triggered the reaction.

I think that I had the pneumonia vaccine ......... wasn't told how long it would last, it was simply given and I didn't think to ask
