Vag estrogen
« on: October 19, 2024, 10:54:04 AM »

Hey

Could someone please explain all the options to me, in terms of strength?

I'd be looking to start at the lowest possible strength. Would this be Blissel? Is 0.01% estriol it's genetic form.

Very confused. Thanks

What's the problem, i.e. symptoms?  Have U tried anything yet?

Usually 'vagifem' and/or 'estriol/ovestin' are prescribed.  You've probably read the various VA threads  :-\ , the idea being to insert vaginally for 2-3 weeks nightly .  Some find a smear of the latter on the outer labia/urethra helps to stop any dryness = itching and using 'vagifem' internally.

Blissel is the one to use if you wanted to start at the lowest dose.
Estriol used to be known under the brand name Ovestin but now referred to by its scientific name Estriol. If you do some research I believe it comes in two different strengths but someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks ladies.

I think I've got it. Estriol -

So Blissel gel is 50mcg.

That's different to estriol 0.01% which is 100mcg.

Then there's 0.1% which is 1 mg.

I can also see a pessary called imvaggis which seems to be only 30mcg of estriol.

Then there's something called Senshio. Which is nether estriol not estradiol.

And obvs the intrarosa which is dhea.

Ok.

Anyone used imvaggis?

Anyone know if Blissel is available in NHS Scotland?

Thanks all.
