Soy isoflavines
« on: October 11, 2024, 09:43:53 AM »

Hi,
I had horrible nausea with HRT this year and came off it altogether. After 4 months I have been stable and not nauseous, but still have anxiety and hot flushes. The Dr recommended soy. I took one capsule on Tuesday evening and felt a bit funny on Wednesday and took one weds morning and felt unwell that day too. Tired and a bit sick. I’ve not taken any more since.
But, Thursday morning I woke up with anxiety and nausea and felt unwell all day, really tired and slightly sick. Last night I woke up at 2 am feeling nauseous and it lasted all night .

My question is, had anyone else had this and are 2 capsules really enough to start my hormones churning again?

It won't have had any bearing on your hormones, you are likely just sensitive to the supplements.

Despite what the manufacturers claim, I am not sure the best results would come from ingesting soy in capsules - the Japanese eat a diet rich in soy based foods and are reported to have less menopausal symptoms on the whole, so if this is your aim it might be a better approach to incorporate such foods into your diet than take something that wasn't designed to enter the human body in such a concentrated form.

Hi,
I have added more soy this year to my diet and ginger too. Both are best for health, ginger helps nauseous. Check if you have any allergy or sensitive to the food. x

I have a soy sensitivity. I get nausea, stomach pain and diarrhoea so it could be you are the same as it is quite common.
